Antonietta Terrigno
Owner, and the heart of Osteria De Medici, Antonietta Terrigno became known within the culinary scene through her triumph in the art of traditional Italian cuisine. Born in Molise, Italy in the town of Incornata, two-hours southeast of Rome, Antonietta learned to cook from her mother during her childhood. Creating traditional dishes from the freshest ingredients picked from her family's garden, she began to develop her own style. Caring for brothers, aunts, uncles, and grand parents while her mother tended to the farm and her father cultivated the land, Antonietta became the chef of the household and developed her talents as a self-taught chef.
Today, after forty years of experience in creating exquisite traditional Italian cuisine and mentoring some of Canada's most talented chefs, Antonietta shares her secrets having authored her fourth cookbook, which are all recognized as Canadian bestsellers. Her talents have been recognized through appearances on the Dini Petty Show, the Mike Bullard show and the Vicky Gabereau show. As she reaches her culinary peak, Antonietta remains committed to creating excellence at the Osteria in both service and cuisine.
