Maurizio Terrigno
Just like
his father, Maurizio Terrigno entered the restaurant business at
an early age. He helped his parents to develop Renato's dining experience
as a busboy at the age fourteen. His dedication to helping his mother
and father to develop a successful business led him to pursue the
artistry of the sommelier. Winning a scholarship, he began his journey
by studying wine in Italy at the early age of eighteen. There, he
developed his pallet and acquired a fine taste for extraordinary
wine. Ordering wines that are unknown in Canada, Maurizio has helped
brand some of the most popular wines now found in Western Canada
and is herald for his consultancy in preparing wine collections
and wine lists.
Rigorously
studying as an aficionado of the savoir of the Italian wines, Maurizio
visits Italy each fall to purchase the most exceptional and rarest
wines each Italian regions has to offer. Selecting from the "Super
Tuscans", Barolos, and Nebbiolos, his business experience and
admiration for fine wine helped to create one of North America's
rarest wine cellars at the Osteria. With over 2,000 bottles of distinguished
wine kept in a state-of-the-art wine cellar, which he designed,
Maurizio's collection of wines will ensure that your dining experience
is memorable.
